Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house which has a combined gross household income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family profits isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
